School of Mechanical Engineering
From early days of mankind's endeavors to conquer the most sought after obstacles in the way of convenience in life, mechanics has always played a major role. Pyramids of Egypt as well as a host of other monuments are perfect examples. Modern Iran has enjoyed the existence of several renowned engineering schools, oldest of which is the M.E. department at IUST. Now a college, M.E. was founded 1932 and has thrived ever since. Offering degrees at B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.d levels has made M.E a very distinguished college throughout the country and region.
Nearly all fields of mechanical engineering are taught and researched at IUST. From the currently 1109 full time enrolled students, 454 are undergraduate, and 655 are obtaining their M.Sc and Ph.d degrees. Aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, control systems and automation, solar energy, applied heat transfer, bio-mechanics, composites, structural dynamics, fatigue and fracture mechanics, mechatronics, CAD/CAM, nondestructive testing and a host of other topics are topics covered at IUST's School of Mechanical Engineering. |
